Tim Butterfield joined Carpenter Hazlewood’s Phoenix office in 2018 where he works as an Associate in the Firm’s insurance defense practice. Prior to joining Carpenter Hazlewood, Tim worked for an insurance defense law firm where he focused his practice on professional liability, dram shop, and premises liability.
Tim was born and raised in northwest Montana and earned an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Montana before moving to Arizona where he attended law school at the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona. In law school, Tim honed his oral advocacy skills as a member of the Jessup International Moot Court and National Trial Competition teams. He was also an editor for the Arizona Journal of Environmental Law & Policy, a finalist in the Richard Grand Legal Writing Competition and winner of the Judge Thomas Tang Writing Competition.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys the beautiful Arizona environment and climate. He can often be found hiking the Superstition Mountains or skiing the Arizona Snowbowl.
