Leah K. Burton is the Partner in the San Antonio, Texas office of Cagle Carpenter Hazlewood, benefiting clients with 5-years of experience in homeowners association law. Leah has extensive knowledge of community associations, including initiation of foreclosure lien and money damages lawsuits, and defense of mortgage foreclosure lawsuits. She has served as general counsel to various associations, and routinely provided advice on delinquent assessment collection, resolution of enforcement disputes with owners, arbitration, mediation and all aspects of operating community associations under various Federal and state laws.
During her tenure, Burton has also managed litigation for Fortune 500 companies, owners of small to mid-sized businesses, commercial landlords in actions involving breach of contract, business torts, landlord/tenant and other real estate matters, as well as represented clients in United States Bankruptcy Court.
Burton earned a Juris Doctor at Southwestern University School of Law where she was a member of the Board of Governors and the Moot Court Honors Program. She received a BA in English and History from Bucknell University and also attended Syracuse University.
