As the employment law and litigation practice group leader, Charitie focuses her practice on helping employers navigate labor and employment related issues. She also practices general commercial litigation, probate and trust litigation, and appellate advocacy.
In her employment practice, Charitie represents employers in litigation before federal and state courts and agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Arizona Civil Rights Division, and the Industrial Commission of Arizona. Charitie also provides counseling and training seminars on a wide range of employment matters such as personnel policies, hiring and firing, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour matters, workers compensation, and compliance with state and federal laws. Charitie has been recognized as a Rising Star in Super Lawyers Southwest.
Charitie is a contributing author of the Arizona Employment Law Handbook, a comprehensive treatise addressing all aspects of employment law in Arizona. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Maricopa County Bar Association.
In addition to her labor and employment practice, Charitie has handled a number of commercial litigation matters and has effectively represented clients in all types of business disputes, with an emphasis on lending disputes and trust and probate litigation. She also represents fiduciaries in the administration of estates. Charitie was voted the #1 Estate/Trust litigation attorney in Ranking Arizona. In addition, Charitie was listed in AZ Business Magazine’s Top Lawyers list, Estate/Trust Litigation.
Charitie also has extensive appellate experience. In addition to having handled appeals in the Arizona state appellate courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and in the Colorado Supreme Court, Charitie served as a judicial law clerk for a year to the Honorable Diane M. Johnsen on the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One.
