Getting to Know You
One of the best parts of being on the Client Relations Team is getting to know the clients. As we have expanded our offices across Arizona , I have had the pleasure of getting to know people from lots of places across the state. I have had the chance to sit and talk with people from many walks of life, various backgrounds and jobs. It has been fascinating. What I have found the most interesting is that there are definite differences in attitude and feel in the places I travel around the state.
The Phoenix area, of course, sees itself as the center of the action, and is very fast paced and action-oriented. People in the Phoenix metro area are used to life on the go and want everything done quickly and have high expectations. I love working to meet those expectations every day. I love the challenges of my job.
When we began working with people in the Tucson area, I noticed that though, of course the expectation of high quality work was the same, the rush-rush attitude just doesn’t invade everything they do. From managers, to clients, to staff at the hotel where we hold the seminars, everyone is a bit more laid back and definitely more casual. I love it!
Prescott is a whole different world. The checker in the grocery store actually had a conversation with me. Fascinating. (If I weren’t late to the seminar due to road construction on I-17 it would have been lovely!) At the recreation center where we held our seminar, all the local Bridge players passed our room with homemade treats. Several of them gave me samples of their wares on their way by our room. I emailed our office to ask for an immediate transfer to the Prescott office to work with Jim Atkinson. I was denied. But wow—people up there are incredibly kind. Maybe it is because they live in such a beautiful place.
I love getting to know you. All of you. I love the variety of people I am allowed to interact with. If we have not met, I cannot wait to get to know you—wherever you are from!
